Why is Interviewing Candidates so Difficult with Anne Donavon
Employers wear a lot of hats from accounting to marketing to people managing. And there's a lot that goes into managing employees. Doing this effectively starts during the recruiting and interviewing process and a lot of employers struggle with creating a great interview experience. During this presentation, Anne will talk about the ins and outs of interviewing potential employees, including:
the challenges employers face when interviewing
the potential traps employers can fall into when they interview candidates (the biases we bring to the interview table)
the guidelines employers should follow when interviewing (the questions they should and should not ask)
and creating a great interview experience for a potential employee that can help sway their decision to join the team or not
Anne focuses on employee retention and creating a great interview experience can increase employee retention. She has facilitated the following presentations and workshops:
Succession Planning for the Future for the Montana Nonprofit Association

Luncheon - So, You Think You’re Not Creative? Think Again!
Presented by Lori Addicks
Everyone is creative. Research has shown that various stages of the creative process require different kinds of thinking, and each thinking preference is involved at some point.
Interestingly, the things we fear most in our organizations – fluctuations, disturbances, imbalances – are the primary sources of creativity.
Attendees will learn about Whole Brain® Thinking and how to approach creativity based upon their preferred thinking style.
Whole Brain® Thinking is based on more than 30 years of proven research into how people think and communicate, as well as build relationships, learn, create, and solve problems.
The Whole Brain® Model, which serves as an organizing principle for how the brain works, depicts four different thinking styles: logical, detailed, people-oriented, and conceptual. Although an individual may prefer certain modes of thinking, everyone has access to all four quadrants.
Through several interactive activities and discussions, attendees explore the basics of Whole Brain® Thinking and its impact on our approach to creativity.
Content:
What is Whole Brain® Thinking?
Explore our Four Creative Selves.
Learn two frameworks for Exercising Greater Creativity.
Once creative thinking is understood as a series of thinking steps that can be learned and applied, creativity suddenly becomes available to us all.

January 17 Luncheon
Breath, Posture & the Pelvic Floor
Presented by Turi Hetherington
Did you know 50% of women experience some degree of incontinence and/or pelvic organ prolapse?
If you're in this group (or want to prevent being in it), join us to learn about Low Pressure Fitness, a research-backed hypopressive training system that helps you regain control of your pelvic floor, strengthen your core, and so much more!
Low Pressure Fitness (LPF) is a series of breathing and postural exercises that safely strengthen your deepest core muscles. These are the muscles that create the foundation for upright posture and joint stability. They also help you control normal bodily processes and function of our bladder, bowels and sexual health. Oftentimes, these inner muscles can be affected from an injury, surgery, pregnancy, illness or sedentary lifestyle.
LPF exercises turn on these muscles by reducing the pressure through your thoracic, abdominal and pelvic cavities. It's a whole body routine administered in a specific sequence, with postural cues and a unique breathing pattern called hypopressives. This change in pressure along with maintaining the postures are key to the effectiveness of LPF exercises.
Join us to learn the more about this innovative practice and how you can integrate it into your daily routine to
Tone & strengthen deep core & pelvic floor muscles
Improve urinary incontinence problems
Reduce the effects of organ prolapse
Posture & respiratory re-education
Enhance sports performance
Decrease abdominal girth
Enhance sexual activity
Reduce back pain, and more!
