September 22nd IN-PERSON Luncheon – Bozeman for CEDAW
September 22 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pmFree – $10.00
Join us for our IN-PERSON (with virtual option) September Luncheon – Bozeman for CEDAW presented by Lei-Anna Bertelsen and Olivia Bulis!
The Bozeman for CEDAW (Cities to End Discrimination Against Women and Girls) Initiative is a non-partisan, all volunteer effort by community members that grew out of our original request to the Bozeman City Commission to adopt a Cities for CEDAW Resolution in May of 2018. Cities for CEDAW use a human rights framework to address and identify barriers and discrimination faced by women and girls in small towns to big cities. This Initiative in Bozeman has garnered incredible amounts of community support, with over 20 Letters to the Editor in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, 30 community leaders and organizations offering their endorsement and over 1,700 city resident’s signatures on a petition to support the CEDAW Ordinance.
Through speaking at a Bozeman Business and Professional Women Luncheon, we hope to engage female leaders through thoughtful discussion on the lived experiences of being a woman in the business sector, and then connecting those personal experiences to the data that outlines the health and wellbeing, economic security and safety of women and girls in Bozeman. Through this, we hope to engage members to support or become involved with this Initiative, as we move towards encouraging the City of Bozeman to pass a resolution supporting the status and safety of women and girls in Bozeman.
