April 1st, 6pm – City of Bozeman Commemoration of Equal Pay Day
April 1, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Equal Pay Day symbolizes how far into the year women must work to earn what men earned in the previous year.
Women need to work an extra 3 months to earn what a man earned.
Currently, Montana women with the same education, in the same occupation, still see an average pay difference of roughly 80 cents to every dollar a man makes. The wage difference for women of color is significantly higher across the board. (Hispanic women make 54 cents to the white man’s dollar, Black women – 62 cents, Native Hawaiian women – 62 cents, and Native American women – 58 cents to the white man’s dollar.)
Join Bozeman Business & Professional Women and the City of Bozeman on Monday, April 1st at 6:00pm at City Hall (121 N. Rouse) for our collaborative commemoration of Equal Pay Day and the City’s presentation on strategies to close the pay gap in Bozeman.
