 Job Opening for new Education Director at Montana Outdoor Science School

An Announcement from MOSS:

MOSS is in search of an Education Director. This position is integral to MOSS providing quality, research-based, and relevant science programming to students throughout Montana. In collaboration with the Executive Director and Summer Program Director, the position is responsible for the quality teaching strategies, content, and assessments integrated in all of MOSS programming though focuses primarily on all aspects of school programs. This includes cultivating relationships with schools across the state, recruitment and scheduling, standards-based curriculum development, hiring and training of up to 15 part-time instructors, and creatively solving challenges that arise.

Qualifications Required
● Enthusiasm for MOSS’s mission, values, goals, and culture
● Degree in science, education, or a related field
● Strong knowledge of pedagogy
● Strong science content knowledge in fields including, but not limited to; biology, life science, ecology, and geology
● Experience with standards-based curriculum development
● Ability to communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience, including strong e-mail writing skills, social media writing skills, and an ability to write formal marketing text
● Exceptional interpersonal and oral communication skills; versatility to interact professionally and in a positive and professional manner with the public and staff at all levels of the organization, including staff, board members, volunteers, partners, and donors
● Ability to work collaboratively as well as with a great deal of autonomy, including working independently without supervision
● Ability to set and implement priorities, manage multiple tasks, and evaluate performance
● Ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of discretion
● Extensive computer experience including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Google Drive, email, and social media platforms
● Ability to travel occasionally, including to outreach and fundraising events that may fall on weekends or after hours

Compensation and Benefits
This position is paid at an annual salary of $35,000-$38,000 DOE. Position is Full-Time.

Required Qualifications:
-A college degree and at least three-years of direct professional experience with business operations, business accounting and Quickbooks, educational events, marketing and communications; preferably in the nonprofit sector. -Demonstrated expertise in program development and delivery; preferably with business clients. 
-Understanding of the roles that marketing, communications, and events play in enhancing membership development, fundraising, and private donations. 
-Experience with grant management and reporting; preferably with federal agencies. 
-High computer literacy, adept with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, e-mail marketing tools, and donor databases. 
-The ability to complete a 40-hour certification course from AASBC within six months of hire.

Work Conditions:
Prospera has a collaborative work culture that is positive, energetic, and fun. The work week is generally Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with an opportunity for flex-time between work from home or outside the office. This position is based in Bozeman, MT. Local and out-of-state travel is required.

Compensation:
The position is a full-time salaried exempt position. Starting salary is $42,000-$46,000 DOE. Benefits include 20 paid-time off days, health insurance coverage for employee, a monthly cash contribution to a Health Savings Account, a SIMPLE IRA with a 3% match, and a $20 monthly phone stipend.

 Montana Healthcare Foundation seeks Program Assistant

The Montana Healthcare Foudnation is seeking a Program Assistant!

The Program Assistant supports the Program Team comprised of a Program Director and Program Officer by providing general administrative support,
grants management, program data collection, scheduling meetings and grantee communications, coordinating travel and event logistics, and general project management. They will interact regularly with MHCF staff and consultants, current and potential grantees, and community leaders; and assist in maintaining and enhancing a positive image for the organization. As part of MHCF’s administrative staff, the person in this position will contribute to achieving the strategic vision and goals of MHCF.

• Position is full-time – 40 hours/week – with competitive benefit package.
• Team atmosphere with small staff, open communication and minimal hierarchy.
• Office is located in downtown Bozeman, MT.
• Regular car travel throughout the foundation’s service area. Access to use of a reliable private
vehicle or rental car for occasional use for business travel in Montana. Mileage reimbursed at
allowed GSA rates or actual costs of approved rental car. Ability to secure and maintain a
driver’s license valid in the state of Montana and to maintain private liability insurance with
minimums outlined under MHCF policy. Periodic overnight travel within the foundation’s service
area of the State of Montana and some national travel also required.

Requirements/Qualifications
• A minimum of 3 years work experience, with substantial experience providing executive or
administrative support to senior staff;
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field;
• Ability to execute duties and responsibilities independently and with minimal supervision, think
critically, synthesize information from a variety of sources, work collaboratively or
independently as required, prioritize effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously,
effectively carry out written and oral instructions;
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, and exceptional attention to detail;
• Exceptional tact and diplomacy, ability to quickly gain the trust of stakeholders, staff and
trustees;
• Unquestionable personal and professional integrity;
• Excellent communication skills, including diplomacy required to function effectively in a dynamic
& interdependent team environment;
• Outstanding writing skills, including ability to draft clear, concise documents;
• Spirit of customer service, facilitating positive and productive interactions between the Program
Officers, trustees, staff, and external constituents;
