There will be heavy hors d’oeuvres, desserts, a cash bar, door prizes, opportunities to engage in networking with professional women from around the state, and a raffle to raise funds for the BPW 2019 Montana Shooting Star Business Grants, as well as the BPW 2019 Montana Women’s Educational Scholarship Fund.

Cost to attend is $25.   Ticket sales for the event will also go to these funds in support of aspiring Montana women professionals and women students.  Tickets can be purchased online at https://bozemanbpw.org/eventlist/celebrations-2018/.

*Acording to the 2018 State of Women Owned Business Report, there are today 12.3 million women owned business firms in the United States, constituting 40% of all of the nation’s firms.  This is a large increase – up 58% – from the 7.8 million women owned businesses owned in 2007 at the beginning of the Great Recession.

As of 2018, women of color account for 47% of all women owned businesses in the United States.  Specifically, African American women owned businesses account for 20% of all women owned businesses, Latina women owned businesses account for 17%, Asian American women owned businesses account for 9%, Native American/Alaska Native women owned businesses account for 1.4%, and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander women owned businesses account for .3% of all women owned businesses in the US.

From 2007 to 2018, the number of businesses owned by women of color grew overall by 163%.

National Business Women’s Week® is a great opportunity to recognize and highlight the progress women have made as business owners and entrepreneurs, as well as to share information about successful workplace policies and raise awareness of the resources available for working women that can support women of all demographics in their efforts to start and grow businesses.
