Shooting Star Grant Funding Available

The Montana Business and Professional Women Foundation with the Bozeman Business and Professional Women Announce Grant Application Period Opens

Bozeman Business and Professional Women and Montana Business and Professional Women’s Foundation announce the annual Shooting
Star grant application period is now open. Between November 16, 2016-January 17, 2017 women in Montana may apply for a grant to assist them in developing their business.

There are an estimated 37,000 women owned businesses in Montana, producing $4.7 million in revenue in the past year. The financial grants are to enable women owned businesses to develop further. "Women Helping Women” is a motto that has really worked well for Montana Business & Professional Women’s Foundation statewide. Again this year, the organization is offering its Shooting Star grants to Montana women entrepreneurs with good ideas who want to purchase equipment or other materials for business start-up or development.

Women trying to get ahead but lacking a little money can apply for the aid for business start-up or development. Financial assistance and professional resources will be made available for buying equipment, software, promotional materials or other needs for small business development. The end goal is to make participants more independent Montanans.

The grants are for projects not otherwise eligible for aid. Grants are for business development and are not awarded for religious purposes, to veterans’ or fraternalorganizations, for use as general endowment money, or solely for fund-raising.

For the first time this year, Bozeman BPW is administering the grant application process for the Foundation.
