Wayne Gorski: Wayne has had years of
experience teaching Tai Chi, Ikedo and Ikaiki Jujitsu. He holds a black
belt in the two latter. He began his study of martial arts when he was
14 years old. During his years at Adams State College and the
University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, he began teaching Women's
Self Defense. He taught women's classes and had the gratification of
having one of his students defend herself against an attacker, break his
instep, and see him apprehended by the police.
Here in Bozeman he has been in charge of
training police at the Montana Department of Justice in martial arts
defense. For many years he gave his presentation for the Women's Sack
Lunch Seminars on the MSU campus in the art of self defense.
For his presentation he will offer the
highlights of his seminar covering evasive movements and simple
reactions to wrist grabs. He will talk about how women need to develop
these instinctual reactions to threatening situations. He will

('hitting'). He will ask for audience participation and have us

Triple R
Recycling with Jason and Beth Schneider
Triple R
Recycling, LLC, was purchased by Jason and Beth Schneider in May of
2005. Their goal is to make recycling convenient and easy for
everyone. They provide their customers with six different bins in which
to sort their recycling. They accept all colors of glass, plastic
containers (#1-7), cardboard, newspapers, magazines, white paper (junk
mail and shredded paper), and metals (aluminum, steel and tin). The
company philosophy is that if something can be recycled or reused in the
Gallatin Valley , it should be. They do not believe that "Glass is
Trash" and they are proud of the fact that nothing they pick up goes
into the landfill. In 2008 Triple R Recycling kept 218 tons of
materials out
of the landfill and they plan to do even more in 2009!

"Why Suicide and Mental Health Matter in the
Workplace"
For 30 years
Montana has been ranked in the top five states for the highest rate of
suicide in the nation. Efforts at the state, local, and tribal level are
an on-going process and there have already been significant changes to
address this issue through increased collaboration and effective community
programming, however, our state’s suicide rate continues to be high. The
workplace is an important component of a comprehensive strategy for
addressing suicide. Organizations that demonstrate care for their
workplace community by developing wellness programs improve employee
morale and retention while keeping costs down. We have the capacity to
promote the idea that suicide and mental illness are no longer taboo
subjects and no longer mysterious tragedies. By encouraging and supporting
workplaces that value mental health, we can help establish additional
protective factors for both our community and our businesses.

he discovered the blues. He has declared: “When you are growing up there
are two institutional places that affect you most powerfully: the church,
which belongs to God, and the public library, which belongs to you. The
public library is a great equalizer.” Come learn how and why this famous
